45hrs Yoga Anatomy & Injury management
for 300hrs Teacher training

This anatomy module is designed to build upon foundational knowledge from a 200-hour basic yoga anatomy course, taking a deeper dive into injury prevention and management specifically for yoga teachers. The module aims to equip teachers with the skills to confidently support students who may be dealing with a range of injuries. With clear, easy-to-understand explanations, we’ll explore common types of injuries and provide practical, actionable advice on how to adapt and modify yoga poses for students in group or one-on-one settings. By enhancing your understanding, you’ll feel more empowered to create an inclusive environment where all students feel safe and supported.

We’ll focus on key areas of the body that are essential to a balanced yoga practice: the spine and core, hips, and shoulders. These areas will be examined through the lens of BioTensegrity, a concept that views the body as an interconnected structure where each part works in harmony to maintain balance and support. Understanding how these regions work together will give you a holistic perspective on alignment, movement, and injury prevention.

Here’s what is included in each section of the module:

  1. Anatomy Lecture – A comprehensive lecture on the specific area of the body, highlighting its structure, function, and role in yoga practice.
  2. Injury and Modification Lecture – A dedicated session discussing common injuries related to this body part and practical modifications for asana practice to support healing and prevent further injury.
  3. Reference List – A curated list of studies, resources, and additional reading materials, providing you with evidence-based insights and references to consult as needed.

By the end of this module, you will have a deeper, more practical understanding of anatomy as it applies to injury management, allowing you to adapt your teaching to meet the unique needs of every student
